If you missed KKN’s season 3 premiere last night you missed out! The show was bananas! Sex came up, relationships came up, where the hell Somaya Reece is came up, and whether Jim Jones & Yandy are secretly getting it in….came up! We told you that it was going to be a show you didn’t want to miss, but I don’t think even we knew it would be AS poppin as it was! , Nikki Nicole, and DJ A-One were reunited on the set at TAGS BOUTIQUE (um.. have you been there.. you should go..now. #HOT lol ) ready to get this year of KKN up and running. Started off announcing our guest, Mrs. Mona Scott Young, producer of hit Vh1 show, Love & Hip Hop last week. Little did we know we’d end up with guests galore, Attorney Phaedra Parks (Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Southern Belle), rapper & all around boss Rasheeda, comedian Vanessa Fraction, and rapper/producer Don P, and reoccurring guest “Jill of all trades” Tamme Pha all checked in to the set. The topic, ‘can love and hip hop work in relationships’ was beyond interesting. There were many moments of intense emotion from the early drawn crowd and panel. For many people it was all or nothing. Either love could exist in a relationship with a person in hip hop or it couldn’t. Kandi started the night off early with her opinion that most of the time..it does not work. Even though she was a bit pessimistic about it, that didn’t stop her from inviting her bff Rasheeda and Mona Scott Young to give the optimistic side of things- as both are apart of hip hop culture and have been married for a long time. Check out more plus exclusive photos after the juuuuump!

The audience though a bit stiff at first warmed up rather quickly with the help of Kandi and the always ready for a laugh Nikki Nicole, who came in cracking everybody up! Once settled in though the crowd really got into the discussion. Producer Don Vito found himself on “hush patrol” throughout the night as the topics got too heavy to sit quietly by. Naturally the discussions ranged from whether it is possible to have a relationship in hip hop, to the very popular reality show Mona produces, Love & Hip Hop. When asked if the relationship could work, our guests all chimed in with different opinions. Phaedra answered first, and got straight to it, “If two people want it to work, it will work. Relationships aren’t built upon what you do, it has nothing to do with Hip Hop.” She went on to say how our culture now is more prone to divorce than marriage and how a lot of that has to do with women being able to be the bread winners now as opposed to the men. She got lots of amens from the crowd with that answer. Following Phaedra, DJ A-One let us in on his oh so famous opinion..”Any woman dealing with a man in the industry knows what she is getting into.” He and his Gentleman’s cocktail had the crowd dying laughing the entire night as always. Tamme Pha who is a reoccurring guest on the set, but this time was appearing concerning the topic as well, felt that trust was the common denominator. “If the trust is there it can work, if the trust is not there it won’t work.” Keeping it short and sweet, Tamme spoke from experience. Having a child and a previous long term relationship with producer Jazze Pha gave her much clout with the viewers and the audience.

We were all sort of waiting to hear what Mona would say. She was the most seasoned person on the floor and it sort of felt like every time she talked, everybody listened. Mona felt that it was all about what people are willing to deal with in relationships. In love & Hip Hop or any relationship, two people need to decide what they are willing to fight for or through. I felt her on that! Mona also felt that the images that the Hip Hop generation are exposed to play a part, “This is part of the reason I felt it necessary to show this side of relationships in Hip Hop and black love ( speaking on the show). If you’re not exposed to it you don’t know how to nurture it properly.” She dropped non stop wisdom & le juice on the show all night..but we’ll get to that in a bit! The adorable Rasheeda chimed in piggy backing off of Mona. She felt it important that women not belittle themselves to keep a man. “Ladies, what you can’t do though is put yourself last and take just anything. You have to know when to walk away from a situation. Just as Chrissy (Love & Hip Hop) said- a man is only going to do what a man wants to do.” Rasheeda brought another angle to the discussion as she is a respected female rapper and married to someone in the business as well. Hip Hop has always been a male dominated arena, but Rasheeda let us know that as a female, she has to deal with some of the same issues because of the perception people have of Hip Hop artists. Kandi made it known that she admires her friend’s relationship. An important point to make to a crowd who overall carried a lack of faith in it being possible. Interesting enough, Dj A-One and the rest of the crew seemed to be in support of Kandi’s relationship too. A-One saying what she has now is a keeper! Go Kandi!

Nikki Nicole spoke from her own experiences too. She felt the same way Phaedra did, ”In any thing, not just relationships..but anything, people have to be willing to make it work.” I loved how Nikki who usually keeps everybody laughing got real serious, really quickly when discussing this topic. “Some women stay in these relationships even when they aren’t being respected or treated right, just for security! Im not afraid, I’ll go back to my Mama’s house-start over or whatever I have to do, because Im worth that!” I was in the corner shooting her amens left and right. Rapper & producer Don P jumped in where Nikki left off stating that, “Women don’t go back financially & men don’t go back sexually.” It was a comment that made everybody stop and think. It was the truth. Its hard for a woman who is used to nice things to go backwards in that respect and the same is true for a man and his sex life. Don P was candid about being in a relationship for a while and how at the end of the day, they have decided to accept things..the crowd naturally didn’t know how to respond to that but he was able to clear it up a bit by saying, they’ve just made a decision to stick it out. That was the overlying theme for the while night. If you want your relationship to work.. period ..you have to be willing to work through some things and make it work. It was also clear that you have to set your boundaries and know what is worth fighting for in the end. There were a few contradicting views. Dj A-One felt you should never beg a man to marry you.. Mona thought it was the right for Chrissy to ask Jim Jones to marry her if she felt it was necessary. One of the many highlights of this season of Love & Hip Hop was rapper Jim Jones’ long term girlfriend asking him to marry her. Of course we had to get into the juice of the show following that revelation.

Now I know some of y’all want to know what juice Mona gave about her show. She didn’t give away everything! I mean, she is the producer and she does want you to watch for yourself, but I was shocked at what she revealed. On the violence in the show- she said its not her favorite part of the show, but it is the cast’s natural reaction to things. She says they react as they react and she is responsible for editing their natural reactions. She also answered the question many L&HH viewers have been asking themselves for weeks now, ‘where in the world is Somaya Reece??’. Somaya started off as one of the main women featured in the show, only to disappear! Mona explained that as a producer, she is responsible for following the story and thats pretty much it. She says she has to go with what storyline is priority and its not as black and white as people are making it. She was really professional about it. At the moment it went over my head that she never really answered where the heck Somaya is! LOL.One of the greatest moments in the night was when the question was posed to Mona whether or not Yandy and Jim had more going on than they let on. She cleared that up REALLY quickly stating that they were just as they are portrayed on the show. She did let on that the unraveling beef between Chrissy & Yandy is news to her. She didn’t realize before the show that they had any differences…. humph.

The night wrapped up with lots of laughs thanks to Dj A-One and his borderline inappropriate commentary that we can’t live without. Kandi made sure to let everybody get their shine on for a bit before closing the night out with details on how you can join she and Phaedra in Macon for a very VERY adult event! I mean really.. the show was crazy! Phaedra ended up reiterating how freaky she is, Rasheeda let out that she and hubby got it in on a plane (with a complete ‘how to’), and Dj A-One confessed his love for Yandy. It was entertaining to say the very least! A great way to kick off this year for KKN! We went out with a bang last year so of course we had to bring in the new year even better! Glad some of you tuned in..we missed ya! If you missed the show, be SURE head to our homepage and catch up! You will NOT regret it..especially those of you trying to land a rapper (don’t act!). You may want to learn from our guests if its even possible to get love and Hip Hop!

The last few weeks have been a bore without your daily dose of Kandi Koated Nights! Well, we understand. Which is why we are TOO excited about this new season popping off this Wednesday 10:30pm! Of course we’re bringing it in with a bang! Bangin topic, bangin guest, and as always bangin hosts! This season starts tomorrow with a discussion on Love & Hip Hop, which in itself is an interesting topic. I mean, who is not interested in the reality of men and women with lots of talent, money, & opportunities to cheat committing themselves to 1 person!?

Some of you guys have been keeping up with the latest most popular reality shows- one of which being the one Kandi is in. Id venture to bet the second best reality show out there today is Love & Hip Hop.. ugh, Im guilty! I love it! Well, this Wednesday we welcome the lovely Mona Scott-Young. Who just so happens to be everything including the closest we’ll probably get to an objective expert on the theme of “love & hip hop”.

Mona’s name may sound familiar as she is only a multi-media mogulista powerhouse etc.. She’s responsible for backing many of your favorite celebs in one way or another and stays fly doing so. Her company Monami Entertainment, LLC has been a force in this industry for years and she’s managed to stay relevant with the times. Wednesday she’ll join Kandi, Nikki Nicole, & DJ A-One as the guest to discuss the very interesting topic, “Does Love & Hip Hop work in relationships?”

As stated earlier Mona is the best to speak on this topic right now. Her company is behind the production of that hit reality show we spoke of earlier “Love & Hip Hop”. Plus, she’s worked hand in hand with some of hip hop’s biggest names and the industries sexiest women. Im sure she’s got a mouthful to say and you do not want to miss it! A woman of her esteem has no need to bite her tongue and promises to keep it 100!

Tune in tomorrow night Wed. 1/11/12 at 1030pm right here on KandiKoatedNight.com to catch the show! You dont want to miss this!

There is one word to describe the 2011 finale show for KKN that aired last night… WOAH! With the year coming to an end it was only right that the crew went out with a bang! They chose a very VERY touchy subject to discuss and it made for a great show. Last night’s topic, ” If you fell in love with someone and found out they were transgender would you stay with them? “, caused a huge stir in TAGS and online! With special guests, the adult entertainment guru transgender woman TsMadison, transgender men Jamel Balenciaga and A.M. Balenciaga, and the self coined “common denominator” queer Jaimee Paige -this show had no other choice but to be a big one! Check out more & a few screen caps from the show after the jump!

The guests held NOTHING back. TsMadison talked about her personal journey to becoming who she is today, her porn business, and yes.. her virginity. The self coined “virgin to women” bragged for most of the night about how she puts it down with..a big penis. Kandi visited TsMadison’s site before the show aired & seemed to be amazed by just how big it is considering TsMadison’s feminine appearance otherwise. She absolutely kept the party going. Nobody knew what to expect out of her mouth! For some people TsMadison’s personality probably was a bit much, but to me it was just confident. You can tell she’s become sure of who she is. That came from years of having to figure it out, which she and other guests made clear was not easy. She was definitely non stop entertainment, flirting with other guests and making Nikki Nicole blush, but the real catch was her staying mumm about the celeb men she has been with! Kandi and the other hosts spazzed when she said she’d been with celebs. Booooyyy if that got out. POP.

The transgender men really got hit with the questions about self identity vs orientation and all of that -which can be hard for people to understand. Jamel who was born with a vagina claiming to have a penis, but never having had any surgery threw lots of people off. Usually A.M. was there to save the day with mini lessons on definitions and the science behind it all. They did their best to explain even though the audience members (1 in particular) was really out done by their answers. He had to make it known that Jamel and A.M. could never put it down as he does because they arent men, even though they identify as men. I get what he was trying to say.. but it came out all the way wrong! Was I the only person offended? Not sure, but for the unnecessary hostility he’s earned himself the weekly SAT DOWN ribbon. Even DJ AOne had to interject at one point to clarify that it was all respect in there. Crazy!

Now I really dug how Jaimee described herself on her twitter page. She was the common denominator out of the group. She called herself a queer meaning, she is who she is and likes who she likes. She admitted to usually being the feminine one in a relationship, but says she’s also played around with feminine women and has been with men. She represented the people who sort of are attracted to.. people and not necessarily a gender. She made it clear that she isnt really bound by any societal gender roles/definitions because she looks for chemistry. Jaimee was extremely informative as well, I liked this about her. It was like, every time I had a question she answered it. Along with the information, she spent the night warning Nikki that her subtle comments were gonna get her turned out. We’ll have to see how that went. lol

I read earlier yesterday on a blog by a transgender woman that Kandi had a “Potential Transphobic Trainwreck” on her hands with this show. Its such a flag worthy topic and nobody really likes to step on any toes or offend anyone. The author of that blog stated that the show would be unfair becuase you have to have representatives of the LGBTIQ community present in order to have a relevant discussion. I guess she didnt think KKN or Don Vito Productions capable of knowing that. Well, I hope she tuned in to see the many different identities represented and just how informative it was. I’d go as far as to say it became more informative at times than topic driven. It really was a candid look at the lives of the guests featured and entertaining..very entertaining! I applaud Kandi & the team for pulling it off the way they did! With ALL of that said, I’ll pose the topic/question to you guys! Now that you’ve seen the show- If you fell in love with someone would you stay with them if you found out they were transgender?
